Apple’s Fusion Drive Performance

Macworld tested the fusion drive (ssd flash drive + hard drive) in one of the new Mac mini models. The result: it’s about as fast as Phil Schiller said in the last Apple special event. Besides the numbers in Macworld’s article, this video posted by TechfastLunch&Dinner shows what that kind of speed and performance really […]

How To Report a Problem With iOS 6 Maps Data

iOS 6 Maps has revealed quite a bit of teething troubles. Apple says the system will improve with use and time. Well, there’s a way to help speed  up the process. How? Good ol’ human input can surely play a big part in the solution. MacRumors.com shows what to do when an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch user encounters […]

Video of the Apple Special Event, Sep 2012

Apple posted the streaming video of today’s Special Event where it announced the iPhone 5 and new iPod models. You can watch it here. — I’ll update this post when Apple releases a video podcast version of the event. Update:  The video is now available as a Podcast on the iTunes Store. You can get it here in different […]

iPad Keyboards Round-up

Ellis Hamburger at The Verge has put up a nice round-up of keyboards for the iPad. Check the video below for insightful tidbits and quick reviews of the keyboards. I like the proposition of the Incase Origami Workstation — a great case and stand tailored for the Apple wireless keyboard. It is a great example of how a third-party accessory maker […]

WWDC 2012 Keynote Video Available

Apple has posted a streaming video of the keynote event that took place a few hours ago on its Worldwide Developers Conference at Moscone Center, San Francisco. Apple is getting faster in this video posts. Lots of stuff announced at the keynote. Not time for everything, so the Mac Pro was silently updated on Apple’s official product page.

Apple Hates Brunettes

You just have to read it. App stores for mobile devices have been great for users. And for developers too, for most part. But once in a while there’s another story that sounds like developers are given the ‘talk to the hand’ treatment. Despite the blog post title, this case encompasses both Apple’s App Store as well as […]

Pocket (formerly Read It Later)

Pocket is quite a departure from ‘Read it later’*. New visual identity, new website, new interface design, a promo video — it is more of a scrath-the-past-and-start-over kind of a thing. The dark interface gives way to a more fresh, bright, approach that understands core categories of online content viewing: articles, videos, images. That is a nice improvement as these new […]

Adobe CS6 Production Premium — Preview

Speaking of the devil, Adobe opened the gates today and put up a webpage to show what’s new in the new CS6 Production Premium package. Lots of new and tweaked stuff for Premiere, After Effects and more. I think professionals will have a field day playing with new features like shape/text 3D extrude or 2D layer bending that […]

Adobe Illustrator CS6 — Pattern Creator

Adobe is actively trying to build momentum around the release of the CS6 version of its iconic apps for creatives. And I think they’re succeeding. After the release of Photoshop CS6 beta and a preview of the CS6 Production Premium bundle scheduled to be presented at the NAB 2012, information about other apps is also being released. This […]
