Hipocrisy, Media and Politics

Hypocrisy is a messy part of human life. In Politics and media it seems to multiply. Great article by David Simon (and its follow-up) on the hipocrisy of news media dealing with political sexual scandals (triggered by the Petraeus scandal). Hypocrisy will never go out of style in American journalism or American life. But sitting there […]

How To Report a Problem With iOS 6 Maps Data

iOS 6 Maps has revealed quite a bit of teething troubles. Apple says the system will improve with use and time. Well, there’s a way to help speed  up the process. How? Good ol’ human input can surely play a big part in the solution. MacRumors.com shows what to do when an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch user encounters […]

About Prometheus (spoilers)

After you watch Ridley Scott’s Prometheus some questions may arise. I still love the teaser trailer though.

WWDC 2012 Keynote Video Available

Apple has posted a streaming video of the keynote event that took place a few hours ago on its Worldwide Developers Conference at Moscone Center, San Francisco. Apple is getting faster in this video posts. Lots of stuff announced at the keynote. Not time for everything, so the Mac Pro was silently updated on Apple’s official product page.

The Tourist

Sometimes I come across an idea that fits a medium so well that they can’t be less than great. One of these is ‘The Tourist’, a short horror film two buddies of mine are working on. It is a simple short story  about how the fate of a young librarian gets ‘contaminated’ by a mysterious device he finds in an ancient book. […]

Apple Hates Brunettes

You just have to read it. App stores for mobile devices have been great for users. And for developers too, for most part. But once in a while there’s another story that sounds like developers are given the ‘talk to the hand’ treatment. Despite the blog post title, this case encompasses both Apple’s App Store as well as […]

Pocket (formerly Read It Later)

Pocket is quite a departure from ‘Read it later’*. New visual identity, new website, new interface design, a promo video — it is more of a scrath-the-past-and-start-over kind of a thing. The dark interface gives way to a more fresh, bright, approach that understands core categories of online content viewing: articles, videos, images. That is a nice improvement as these new […]

Google Play

One store to unite them all. The unification of several Google stores (Android Market, Google Music and the Google eBookstore) under the same umbrella called Google Play. From Google’s official blog: Google Play is entirely cloud-based so all your music, movies, books and apps are stored online, always available to you, and you never have […]
