WWDC 2012 — the pre-show

In a few hours, the Apple keynote will kick-start a week tailored for developers working on Apple’s platforms. It will be the first WWDC keynote after Steve Jobs’ passing. From what we’ve seen, the ‘speakers’ team headed by Tim Cook knows how to deliver a good presentation while keeping Apple’s cultural values in place. Intriguing this year is […]

Efficient compression in iTunes 1080p video

The new 1080p iTunes video files show better quality overall than 720p ones and not that much increase in file size, despite increased compression. This is due to improved decoding in Apple’s latest chips. From the Ars Technica article: This means that the increased 1080p resolution breaks compatibility with everything older than the iPhone 4S anyway, […]

Apple TV reviews (video)

PCmag kickstarts* an expected series of reviews from several sources throughout the web of the new Apple TV. The new model seems to download videos really fast, and with nice picture quality, too. A New interface input model for a new Apple TV?

What I find most exciting about a rumored (or in-the-works) Apple product is thinking about its design and by that I’m encompassing user experience (software interface, input technology), physical hardware and how it works/fits in our lives, being the user experience and interface design favorite subjects of mine. Continuing with the exciting guessing game that precedes each Apple […]
